The Social Traffic community has been built by people from all walks of life who have been eager to give their time for the great value they are receiving in return. None of us had any idea how much we would receive or how the friendships we made would develop. There was no financial gain, the currency was knowledge and the condition for receiving it, participation. Don’t buy the book and leave it on the shelf, because when you eventually get round to reading it the last chapter will have changed without you. The next chapter is being written by all of us and together we will go down in history as pioneers, leaving markers for others to follow across this ever fluid media landscape…I am so very grateful to be a part of this opportunity

Re: Returns on your time investment to date

Hi!

Please e-mail me if of interest.
I recall a comment Thomas A. Edison is purported to have said when his peers were ridiculing his lack of success at developing a lightbulb. We are fed SO MUCH every day electronically. It is like sitting on a rolling chair in front of an amazing buffet. You just can't consume it all. The next step is true multi-dimensional filtering. I see single dimensional filtering, but it doesn't let me change my motivation from one visit to the next. Syndicated multi-dimensional profiles are next. I just say who I am right now and my preferences follow me. We call it "eTwin™" or electronic twin.

Re: Celebration Of Empowerment

I love DEe Jay's brave and honest revealing of how Social Media has affected her world. Her authenticity is so palpable and it tells the story of the power of Social Media so well - Wise Vendors will include their target market and make them feel comfortable whether they are introverted or not - flying high in Times Square or simply buying online. An INCLUSIVE AUTHENTIC approach to the buyer is now the route to success - it is as Dee Jay states, life changing. Simon brings home this truth very clearly in his book and it stays iwth one long after the reading - a real treat when wisdom is enduring and resonates with others

Re: Celebration Of Empowerment

Simon puts it so well in his book - The hunters are now the huntees! We have the Power to say yes or no - WE THE LITTLE MEN AND WOMEN of the world are the ones who decides who is credible who is worth following. Social Media rests on the laurels of itself - it works cause I count and YOU COUNT - So viva to Time's realisation but I think Simon says it best - the millions that didn't have a voice are no longer hidden in obscurity, they are at home and at work using social media to make themselves heard and we can harness this to our best marketting advantage if we stay SINCERE AND AUTHENTIC in our marketting agenda

Re: Celebration Of Empowerment

Most people see Africa as the dark continent but we got the concept of 'I am nothing without you' a long time ago. This notion of 'ubuntu' has been at the forefront of human survival for centuries and now, at last, the most modern of our advancements namely social media marketting is resting on this premise. 'I will only be successful if you make me successful and you will only do that if I seem credible to you, worthy of your respect and true to my word' Simon's book makes this point lucidly and profoundly. As DEe Jay Says so well WE is POWER.

Re: Measuring Social Traffic’s success

As I commented in the STi story, every step of a journey whether its backwards or forwards contributes the fitness and competence of the traveler. While it is sometimes dissapointing not to get the results we anticipate, the learning is that there must be a different or better way.

A strong resilience from from a hard core sales background is the best attitude for an entrepreneur like Simon. Robert Kiyosaki in his book ???? with Donald Trump speak of the difference between an ABUNDANT or a SCARCE mentality. An ABULDANT viewpoint would be ...although 9 out of 10 new ventures fail, if you start 10 you will be there when the 1 succeeds. While the SCARCE viewpoint would be, if 9 out of 10 ventures fail, let me step down and go back to the perceived security of my job...Until I get retrenched!!!!

The success of EDBD is the evolving of the HPT and VIP of today. The HPT and VIP teams of today will be the foundations of the business that develops from this.

Re: Returns on your time investment to date

My experience of business is a series of learnings, that ultimately contribute to being able to make the best decisions at the current time. People come and people go, some contribute more than others....we learn from them all.

One has to be careful along the way not to stand in judgement of others, be they good or bad, whether they are like or unlike ourselves, because mostly what we find fault in others about, relates to that part of ourselves we feel dissatisfaction with or sometimes that we cant deal with. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...
I have found this aspect difficult to own for myself, but in doing so, I believe I have become a better person.

To ensure long term success we need to be "learning" beings. We need to continually focus on what the lessons are that we can learn from a given situation. Both interpersonal as well as business lessons.

Over time we hone ourselves and our skills as we become more competent people in our interactions with others as well as more successful in our business ventures.

The STi story is a case study on how Ideas formulated by strong Leadership evolve, and this, together with the incredible ability Simon has to motivate and direct people into delivery, by practicing what he preaches - in himself delivering exceptional VALUE, provides incredible lessons both business and life.

The project is based on sound business logic, transparency and the numbers make sense. I believe there is every opportunity for success and a giant in the making.

Re the Shares on offer. This is a generous and enticing offer. I personally would combine this with tranches of Shares and Options (mature over time) to ensure ongoing performance and commitment. By doing this at the outset Simon might not now be sitting with people owning shares and not performing in any way.

I feel honored to be part of the HPT and look forward to our Relationships and the Business growing to becoming the leader in the field.

Re: What practical experiences can teach you - which no school ever can

I'm back re-reading this one again in preparation for the Social Traffic launch and wanted to add a couple of thoughts that come to mind;

A few years back an Irishman named Roy Keane left his team of international footballers behind and walked away from the World Cup tournament because in his words the team, its coaches and management had no intention of winning anything and were only playing a supporting role (one which Roy did not wish to be a part of). He was criticised at the time by many who could not understand his mindset.

Roy wanted to be a part of a winning team, who trained like winners, ate like winners and spoke like winners.

As Simon Ford has developed this training programme and the community of people around it he has walked away from second rate tools, techniques and players who were not up to the job and he has filled the community with people and strategies which are way out in front as a means to dominate social media marketing.

There are a few people on the planet who can dominate an industry through skill, knowledge and mindset and when you are lucky enough to find one who will let you eat at their table or kick a ball around with them on the park, do your best to do your best!

Re: Welcome To Social Traffic

Love the line about taking risks!
